Hey Hey

I went out of town this weekend with one of my friends from here. Mungo knows him. Dude named Eric Calhoun (aka Flipper.)

We went to the town just outside Camp Humphreys. It was fun as hell!! I ended up seeing 4 girls that worked at a club here before. One of the girls that I saw was... get this shit... Grace. Her name is now Roxanne over there. I had to do a double-take when I first saw her. I talked to her for a bit anyway.

We ended up hanging out with some other chicks that work at a restaurant over there. Neither one of us still know what one of the girl's name is. Ah well, doesn't matter anyway.

It was kinda nice to go somewhere that most people in the bars don't know who the hell you are. Only 4 girls knew who I was there as opposed to the 60 - 70 that know me here. (that is a rough guess, I really think it is a hella lot more especially if you add in bartenders.)

I have just over one month left here. I have mixed feelings about leaving. I definitely want to get home to see my kid. I just have a lot of fun here. Good times must end to begin new adventures in different places.

I think I am going to end up re-enlisting. I am going to go to Hill then to AWDS and try to get the hell outta there before they deploy me. A remote is not much longer than the deployments now anyway and I have more freedom on the remote. Damn I hate decisions. They suck. Can I be a kid again where I don't have to make these choices?

Peace up.

Life in YUMA

howdy dawgs,

life in yuma has been extreamly boring. the flight schedule has been fucked up from the beginning. pretty much 24 hour stand by all the time. I have about 2 days left and i am looking forward to be back in the AK. I have made the most of my time here though. Its cool that the Marine base across the airfield has what i call a everyday Air show. they have almost every type of Marine and navy aircraft stationed there or comming and going. the harriers are the most impressive of the lot.
I bought a fishing license and went fishing for 2 days. that was interesting. caught catfish, bass, and some carp... really big carp. I bought a almost "Snoopy" type little pole and basic hooks and crap. it was still fun to say the least.

As soon as i get back to AK, your check will be in the mail for the package and mungo's DVD's. Thanks again Mike.

I hope when i get home I can make your sanity a little better mungo.

Talk to you ladies later,

Do you want to rent that by the hour?

Disneyland was just awesome...well, let me start at the beginning.

The plan was to leave on Tue morning and head straight for the big D. Well, our friends and their kids decided to take off on Mon night and just grab a cheap room down the road from the actual hotel that we would be staying at. This was to avoid having to drive for 4+ hours then go to D. Beck and I thought that they had a pretty good idea. We decided to pick up and take off as well. The plan was to just stay at a Motel 6 about 2 miles from the Hampton Inn. So...we roll up and just the area gives off the feeling of "don't leave anything in your car at night". To top that off there are two cop cars in front of the office and they are taking someone away in handcuffs (not the furry fun kind). HINT HINT! It was 2130 and we were tired so we didn't take the hint.

We walk into our room and the smell of mildew and nastiness hits us in the face. We just stepped around the stains in the carpet while there. Man, can you say el DUMPO? Rent that by the hour? Yeah. We didn't even let Ashlee take off her socks. We finally get ready for bed and the one that I get into has a huge dip right in the middle. Reluctantly, I look under the bed to find the entire frame of the box springs shattered. Oh well, we are only trying to get a few hours of sleep, right? Beck was so pissed about the whole thing and to top it off Ashlee was hyper and just wanted to jump around in the bed for about 2 hours before finally falling to sleep. If it was just Beck and I we would have found a parking lot and just slept in the damn car. This was by far the absolute worst place that I had EVER stayed at! Just terrible. The next morning we find out that our friends room was even worse than ours and didn't even have a working AC. Also. come to find out, the cops ended up being there on three different occasions that night not to mention the cop just sitting in the lot when we left in the morning.

The next morning we checked into the Hampton Inn and life was grand. I felt like a king! WOO WOO. Clean and nice. Even got free breakfast every morning! There isn't much else to say about the good old Hampton Inn except that is where we will be staying when the need for a hotel arrises in the future.

Disneyland was a blast as well. We had the best time there and really had fun watching Ashlee ride all the rides (the ones she could). It rained a couple of the days we were there so that was great since it scared everyone off. We just walked on to rides without even having to wait. After the couple rainy days the skies cleared up and the temp was in the low 70's which made for PERFECT Dinneyland weather.

It really was a blast my friends. Really. I am sure that I will get some pictures of Ashlee up sometime in the next 3 years.

Sorry to talk about the shitty motel so much but it really was that bad which made the rest of our trip that much better.

ST out.

Sounds like tons of fun...

First off, I feel your pain about Julie. Don't blame Lissy though. She is a product of her environment (however sad that may be).

Dude, sorry about the DVD's. I forgot to put them in the last package so they are just sitting in a closet. When I sent that last package 007 wanted me to send it COD but I just paid for it so it would be cheaper. 007 still hasn't sent a check for that. I will send your DVD's this weekend but they are going to be COD. I hope that is okay. If not just let me know so we can work something out.

I still owe some catching up blogs. I have had my plate filled lately with trying to get my video editing stuff up and running. What does that include? I will tell you. A new Apple iMac. I have been trying to get it all set up and order other editing stuff as well. The software that I will be getting is the same that is used to edit hollywood stuff. Needless to say...those AK and biking DVD's that don't work for you will be getting replaced sometime in the first half of 2005 with some bomb ass stuff (hopefully).

Okay, I have a lot to do and only a little time to do it. Talk to you guys soon.

You'll have to excuse me, I'm living with Julie

GCI is Double O's dial-up provider. This service seems to be at an all-time slow. Seriously, I play games of Hearts or Solitare while I wait for my pages to load. It takes me a full 30 minutes to check 3 or 4 e-mails. I don't even write that much to Meghan or Caitlin anymore because I've already taken half my day to pull up what they've read. I've been seriously thinking about going back to the Post Office for my correspondence. Who doesn't like getting letters?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Mike. ST. Mahommie. Where are my DVD's? I would love to watch some of my movies. That would be a wonderful thing.

I hate this house. I love Double O, but he's gone and this place has no positive value for me. I want to be gone, daddy, gone gone gone. Work at the Sportsmen's Warehouse is going well, but I'm going to try to find part time work elsewhere. I need more money so I can find an apartment faster and get the fuck out of this house. Julie is making me insane. No kidding, half the nights I've been here have resulted in lost sleep because Julie and Lissy don't go to bed until 3 a.m. or later some nights. Lissy whines and moans, and Julie yells at her, and then Lissy starts screaming, and then Julie starts SCREAMING and that's what wakes me up. Julie screaming at her kid. I can't stand to hear it. And cleanliness? Shit. I was going to try to help keep the place clean, but the moment you make a clear spot on the floor, it seems like they just use the clean spot to put more stuff. This isn't my mess and I can't clean it up. I've made a few friends since I've been back, and I can't imagine bringing them here...to this awful house...and introduce them to Julie.

I think I need to go for a walk, I'm getting kinda heated inside.

Mungo

PS: November is coming and I STILL haven't finished the SMF. Know why? Cause when I'm at work during the day, Julie and Lissy are eating and sleeping and eating and sleeping alternatively... so that when I get back from work they're watching tv and eating and playing on the computer and eating and watching tv and hosting AOL communities and eating. SO. My own usage of the computer comes in short windows, like this one... and until I can afford a computer monitor of my own, this is how it will have to happen. So, I'm late on the SMF and I'm intermittent on the Blog. You'll have to excuse me Gentlemen, I'm living with Julie.

(Sorry Double O, no offense meant towards you. Wait, you won't even read this.)

Boycott

I have been boycotting the blogginz. No one is blogging so I decided to not blog for awhile.

I would love to hear all about what is going on with you guys but the bloggins have been thin.

ST will write up a good blog about Dinnyland and other fun topics soon...I promise.

ST

#740

We've been stuck, fellas. We have not been good blogging brothers.

I am spending my Sunday afternoon trying to finish SMF 3-2, but there is a lot of work to be done. I watched a little football today. I ate some of Julie's favorite food, a huge bag of Pizza Rolls. They were discusting, I should have tried her microwaveable bagel bites instead... I was going to wash them down with her cookie dough or pumpkin ice cream, but I figured I had already injested enough fat. Apples are better.

I am totally 100% broke. I don't even have 1 penny. I collected up all my change, combined it with Fish's change, and we had $13.49. We bought a pizza.

Peace and Love,
Mungo

Lost and Found

Cool! We got the box of goods ST sent. Thanks, dude! It was like Christmas... or a birthday. Execpt I loved each and every present. I mean, they were so nice, I could have sworn I picked them out myself.

Working at the Sportmen's Warehouse now. (Did I tell you guys that?) I'm a retail specialist centralizing my vast experiance in regards to hiking/hunting/pac boots and fishin' waders. I know everything now. Wanna know the difference between a board last and a slip last? Huh? How about the scientific term for Gore-Tex? (Polytetrafloraethelne membrane) Anyone know the inactive rating of a 600 gram hunting boot? -30 degrees F, baby. And who knows where the industry leading moisture-wicking sock producers, Fox River Mills, is located? Osage, IA. That's right. My own backyard. I was born for this gig.

Or you could just call me a shoe salesman.

Peace and Love,
Mungo

SONG OF THE DAY: I don't have one. I've almost completely stopped listening to music. This is a dead house.

PS> Fish and I went out to the Russian River and camped. Then we hiked. It was fun and it was cold.

PPS> In a few hours Double O is going to Yuma, Arizona. He'll be back in a few weeks.... so don't let his absence from the blog startle you. He's just fine. And oh, by the way, I posted a helluva long blog yesterday and nothing posted at all. What's up with that!? All that time down the friggin crapper.

The Road Trip, The Job Search, The Hiking, The Live Music, and The Girl

I have lots to say! I have lots to say!

THE ROAD TRIP
The trip was great. After 007 and I left Las Vegas we went to Denver where we met up with my old friend, Fish. I had had my resurvations about taking him on such a long trip in a car that was already packed. But to my relief, he already had the topper ready for the roof of my car. 007 helped put it on and I played damage control with his girlishfriend who was being left behind in our dust. We lit out of town and headed straight for Logan, Utah. We met up with Chrisser, a member of the Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) and had dinner. Later at the house, I met 6 or 7 of his roommates, his wonderful girlfriend, Carrie, and Pele the avolanche dog. All parties made for a pretty crammed house, but it was great. We played Euchre and Monopoly. The next morning, after a delicious breakfast of soy hashbrowns, apples, and eggs, Chrisser, Fish, Double O, and I went out to a mountain and climbed to the first saddle. From the top, we had a wonderful view of the valley and of the great Salt Lake. After showers and lunch, the three of us got back on the road and made the trip up to Chalis, Idaho. We camped at the hot springs and payed and ungodly price of $25 for a camp site. We vowed never to do that again. The next morning we ate at a REAL Village Inn. Chalis was a village at best, and the restruant was a legitmate inn. It was called The Village Inn and the food was wonderful. We crossed the Canadian boarder at Eereka, MT. That night we camped under a mountain that Fish and I named Mt Camel Glow. Long story. I played my guitar and we drank Kokanne beer. It should have been spelled "Cocaine." We got pretty tipsy off of 4 each. The next day was a beautifully scenic drive up Highway 93 (the same road that took us through Chalis). We camped that night at a mining outpost. There were cattle with cow bells tinking all night long. There was a curious cat that jumped up against my tent in the night. That day had been our longest day on the road, and held that title the entire trip. We drove something like 13-- miles that day. The next morning we ate sticky cinnimin rolls. We drove through the Toad River area the next day and I got a badass picture of a caribou swimming across a river. I was up on a cliff looking down on him with my 600 zoom lens. It should be sweet. After that we got stopped in the road by a few herds of buffalo. That was cool. Then we swam in the Liard Hot Springs for about an hour. That was also very cool. If you guys ever take the trip again... STOP IN LIARD! IT'S FREE. That night we got some snow and rain but nothing too serious. Doubles took it easy behind the wheel and we still made it to our destination with time to spare. We camped outside of Whitehorse that night and the temps got down to about 20 F. That's not too bad until you try to pack up your tent poles with bare hands. Yikes! We ate at Alice's Restraunt the next morning and our server asked us if we were going to the Ween show in Girdwood. We didn't know about it, but Fish and I got very excited. (Look them up guys. Songs like Tried and True, the HIV Song, Baby Bitch, and FLONASE are truely excellent songs.) We bombed all the way to Anchorage from there. We stopped in Kluane for some pictures and we ate in Tok. Between Tok and Wasilla we had a ton of slush and ice and it was just nasty. We got stopped in construction and had time to get out of the car. Double O built a snowman, we filled up the gas tank with our 5 gallon spare can, and smoked cigarettes with gasious fingers. We stopped in at Mug Shots in Wasilla to drink beer, play pool, and find girl friends. There was a girl that I flirted with, and flirted back, but then I found out she's 19 year old divorcee mother of two. Yikes. I don't think I could handle something like that. So we made it back to Anchorage alive and able to speak. It was a wonderful trip. I would do that every year if I could.

THE JOB SEARCH
The day afte we got to town I took Fish around and got him into the Anchor Arms Hostel. It's a crack house. Literally. When the cleaning lady came in to clean up his room, she found a crack pipe and a filter screen. All his neighbors are insane...and they stink. Meanwhile, I'm sleeping in a house with Double O, JULIE, Lissy, and Tony. Nobody needed to tell Fish and I twice that jobs and apartments were an immediate must. We actually drove over to Panoramic View to see if 727 D was still open. And guess what, ST, it is. Or was as of last week anyway. Cindy (remember her? She remembers you) gave us the key and we went in. We were going to take it that day, but seeing as neither one of us had jobs... ya. No dice. So, maybe later it will still be open. At least I got to stand in it again. That was strange. My old boss at Kits Camera is back in Anchorage and he's working at the Dimond Mall Kits. Double said he had seen him in there so I investigated and found it to be true. I picked up an "ap" and chatted with good ol Steve. The manager there was Bill. Bill is a stern man, a hard man to like immediately. I filled out the application and turned it in. They only have part time work available right now so I decided to start looking around other places. I have dropped applications at Kaladi Brothers, Sportsmen's Warehouse, Carrs, Circut City, Borders, NAC, Fred Meyer, and Barnes and Noble. After 10 days of being here, X amount of applications, and two interviews, I got a call this afternoon from Kits Camera and Bill hired me. I start of Friday. I'm hoping part time really means 30-50 hours a week. I'll still be looking though, I promise you that. But things are shaping up.

THE HIKING
Fish and I went to Powerline Pass and hiked that last week sometime. It was good weather for it, about 40 and sprinkling. We saw several moose and I think I got a few good ones of a male with a big rack. I fell in the creek there. It was my fault, I tried to lay down in it without getting wet. Go figure, they don't call me Mungo for nothing. Okay so, I was supposed to go hiking with a girl, a girl I'll call G for now. We were supposed to go to Winter Creek behind Alyska, but that fell though. So I did it by myself. It was dirty, sloppy, cold, wet, and JUST PERFECT! I wore myself out on the hand tram pulling the trolly across the river 7 times! The work was made harder because the rope was wet AND! AND! Holy crap! The rope was coming off it's track! The rope was fraying as I was pulling myself across! Talk about exciting!

THE LIVE MUSIC
Fish and I got the tickets to see Ween. $35 for general admission, or "GA" for the hipters and their fresh concert lingo. Ween was playing at the Aleyska Day Lodge (where you rent equipment. You know, the building behind the wooden sign at the T intersection.) That's where it was. The show sold out and tons of rebel pot heads, hipsters, and curious squares showed up. The show as a knock out. I had no idea what to expect from Ween. With such great songs as "Spinal Meningitis," "Chocolate and Cheese," and "Quebec" who knew what to expect? Only those who had seen them before. I was very very pleased with the 3 hour set. They played straight, no breaks. Fish and I had started right up front by the stage, but that proved to take up too much of my patience, tolerance and restraint. So I stood back by the exit and sat on the window sill. There was a smokers deck arranged outside for all of us smokers. I went out there and smoked my first cigarette of the night. Then I just sort of stayed out there for a while. It was cold, but the fresh air was fantastic. And then it happened. I met eyes with....

THE GIRL
Her name is Gabriella. She moved up here from Ohio with her sister, a dog and a cat in a Ford F-150 in August. She's working at the Tesoro in Girdwood and she's living with her sister, her dog, and her cat in her Ford F-150. She's perfectly cute, brave, and industrious. She was going to go hiking with me the other day but her and her sister just got paid and they had to set up a checking account and move into an apartment in Girdwood. She has my number and knows my real name is Erik now. We're gonna TALK. She's dangeous though. She looks at me in a way that makes me feel all... gooey.

Okay, that's about all the important stuff. Lissy is sitting next to me putting a Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear into her halloween Pooh costume. She cracks me up. I have to get off the computer now and walk over to Pat's Bikes and pick my bicycle up from the shop. I'm midnight riddin' the city tonight baby!

-----no time for spell check!

Peace and Love,
Mungo

OOPS

OK, so I realize that it has been a while since I blogged. I really have no reason for this other than being a lazy shit.

ST, how is the editing going for the BLOG BOOK?

Mungo, have you found residence back in AK?

Bubbles, just how the hell are ya?

Here is what is going on in the world of Eddie...

I just finished my SF-86 today. That is the background investigation shit. Hopefully there will be no problems with it. My application package for AWDS goes in next week and I will find out around the 23rd of this month if I got accepted or not. Wish me luck.

Things with my girlie are going pretty good. Last Saturday, me and a couple of my friends, there girls and my girl came over to my room. The girls cooked chicken adobo. That shit was good as hell. We sat in my room while they were in the kitchen and BSed because we were just getting in the way.

I am trying to figure out what the fuck I am going to do around X-Mas time. The ex is driving me nuts with this. I get to Vegas on the 22nd of Dec. I am driving up to ID on the 23rd. She wants me to stay the 24th and 25th. She will be working anyway so I wont really have to deal with her too much, but I don't know what the hell I am doing. I was going to stay the 24th then leave that night for Vegas and be there by X-Mas morning.

ST, I am also looking to see if you would make the drive back with me to Vegas. I would fly you up to Boise and pick you up there and leave out. I would like a hand with the kid since it is the first time I will have seen her in a year and it is a long drive with a 4 year old. If you wanted to, I could fly you up on the 26th that way you don't miss any holiday time (too much) with your family.

Damn... my brain hurts... I will type more later.

Feeling Moxie

You won't believe me. I have been playing a new game for the last two days. It's free, drawn with stick figures, only let's you play 1 hour a day (a certain number of adventures).

Kingdom of Loathing. http://www2.kingdomofloathing.com/login.php

This game has basically acheived cult status. I couldn't imagine something like this would take off. There has been no advertising and no big sponsors...just word of mouth. It's funny as hell to play and the fact that it only let's you play one hour a day max helps keep the addiction factor down. It's worth checking out. You will at least get a laugh.

Also, where are all the sluts at?

The Kingdom of Loathing

The Kingdom of Loathing

If this game doesn't have Mungo written all over it. I have played it once (you can only play it for an hour a day). Funny as hell. Can't wait until tomorrow.

ST out.

FOXNews.com - Foxlife - Springsteen Kicks Off Vote for Change Tour

Honestly, if people are getting their political views from celebrities then they have other things they should be worried about besides the presidential race! People just need to look inside themselves and ask what values they hold dear...then vote according to those values and NOT according to what some famous people spout off.

See ya,

RIP Bunny

Poor bunny. Better a bunny than a moose or bear. Glad to hear the trip went well. I want to hear all about it when you guys get a chance.

I ALSO WANT COPIES OF ANY GOOD PICTURES YOU BOTH GOT WHILE HERE!

Talk to you guys later.

Back in the US of AK

we made it without a hitch. Everything went very well, except for one innocent bunny that gave his life for the good of all man kind.

The drive up was absolutely georgious. Deer, Pronghorn, elk, moose, buffalo, and that one now deceased bunny were some of the animals we saw on the way up. I didnt take as many pictures as i though, but i did take a few.

As for the items left in vegas, can you please send C.O.D my study books, sunglasses case, mungo's DVD's, Mungo's clothes that were left in the dryer, and any other miscellanious items left behind. Needless to say, i didnt get any studying done on the way, but i will be taking my test within the next few weeks.

Everyone is well here. Julie is just glad we made it back without anyone missing, dead, or unable to speak. we hope to go geocaching within the next few days. Just the easy ones around town so julie and lissy will be able to do it.

I had a blast in vegas and thoughout the entire trip. It was a well needed vacation and I hope to get down there next time with the family.

Talk to ya later man. My buddy Tony is taking us all out to lunch.

Sincerely,

Double O
