Scientology

Tom Cruise recently verbally attacked Brook Shields on the Today Show. Brook Shields took anti-depressants for post-partum depression after she had her baby. Ole Mr. Cruise basically railed on her for taking drugs then proceeded to say that psychiatry is just a pseudo science. He ventured that Matt Lauer (the host) didn't know anything about the history of psychiatry but that he (Cruise) had studied all about it.

So with all this going on in the news I thought that I would check out the "Church" of Scientology's web site since that is where Cruise gets his wisdom. The very first thing that I noticed when I got to their site is that it feels like Amazon.com or something to that effect. After browsing the "Church's" site for about 5 minutes all I could find is that they are trying to sell you tons of stuff. I also find it odd that Scientology is called a religion when it worships no deity. I looked in the dictionary and the definition of religion talks about the belief if a higher power. Maybe I just missed that whole section of the web site. Seems pretty lame to me.

I also found a web site that is against Scientology and tries to expose some of the lies. This site is quite interesting since I actually remember some of this stuff in the news way back.
