Welcome Back

Glad to see you back here, Mungo. I think that we had pretty much given up hope. Glad to see that you are in the Guard and that you actually have a place to live.

Slow cable modem is better than NO cable modem. Am I right or am I right?

New computer huh? You should really get an Apple. I used to hate them. Now I will NEVER buy a Windows PC again. I have one and Beck has one. They are just easy to use (you need that). Also, they are GREAT for making music, movies and doing all kinds of other stuff.

I got your messages on my cell phone. The problem is I always get them when I am driving home and I leave the phone in the car. Yes, I am too lazy to go to the car and get it! You have my email and my Yahoo! stuff. Get up on it.

All is well here. Beck and I just bought another house in Utah as our "weekend" place. I get out of the USAF next May and we will hopefully be moving up there. When we sell this place we plan on buying a couple more houses as rentals. I will probably go to school for two years and finish up my degree. Maybe I will end up in the AK Guard! Yeah, right. Beck wouldn't move there...or would she?

Fill me in on what is up with you and 007 when you get a chance.

Talk to you later.

ST.

PS. Eddie is in Iraq for the next 4 months (in case you didn't know).

Access Granted, But Take It Slow

Okay, hey there friends (and all you spies reading along as well) how are ya? ZZ and I are well nuzzled into our apartment and it's becoming more and more like a home everyday. Yesterday I brought a new broom and some tupperware and a set of wooden spoons. The day before that we bought our first ever knife.

Last week we had cable and phone connected through GCI. Still haven't plugged the phone into the wall to test it out yet though. The internet is screaming along, but at 79k, this rates as probably the slowest cable modem of all time. Can anyone explain this to me? The GCI rep., Danny, told Lizz and I that in order for a faster connection, we'd have to pay $39.99 more a month. We can afford that now, but sheesh, we're already paying $79.99 for cable and phone. At least we've got a free month of Cinemax, Showtime, and HBO. We stay up late.

So, I have access to the internet. Everything takes a long time, but I'm here and I plan on bloggin' regularly!

Double O and I have been on several Fall bike rides with the video camera (3 rides now, one good crash) and we hope that over the next year we'll have a good amount of video for a new DVD. I plan on getting a new computer in the next year, perhaps an Alien? Any thoughts? My bike is in the shop, at Paramount (they moved to Huffman Road) and it will be ready for pick up on Thursday. I need a new derailleur. I snapped my Shimano in half and had to wrap the chain around my bike seat to coast three miles home yesterday. I've upgraded to the Shimano Deore XT. The guy at the shop said, "When the rest of your bike goes to shit, you can still take this derailleuroff and take it with you."

It's 4 a.m. I wasn't feeling well and slept most of the day. ZZ is asleep now and I think my typing is making too much noise. I'm going to Leroy's for coffee and to work on my book.

Peace and Love,
Mungo

PS. Good to be back. Hope you guys come by to check this once and a while still.

PPS. I'm in the Guard now. It's a joke. I've never seen anyone but commanders call chiefs by their first name, but in the guard (at least the 176th ACS, some jr NCO's do)! Lots of changes to the old 611th. Mostly, the people. It's almost like walking into different shops of the highest security mall on earth... except the sales associates don't sell you anything and they have the right to kill you. Hey, but those are just Mungo's first impressions.
