Round House Cafe
Hello friends,
ZZ and I went on a trip north to Wasilla for a Sobe Run (remember them?) and when we arrived we found that we had grown hungry. Not having an appetite for slimey fillin' station hot dogs, we asked around for any all night diners. One existed in Palmer and our directions were this exactly: "Go out the road until you come to the flashing light. Turn left, it's next after the saloon."
We found the place inside the Valley Hotel, it was called The Round House Cafe. I ate Eggs Bennidict and ZZ ate Corn Fritters. Wonderful food at 4:30 a.m.
Bad news arrived by mail yesterday and today. Turns out GMAC cashed two checks I had sent for my car loan and we had not noticed that last month's check had not yet been cashed. So we went on throwing money away like it was dog shit and we've wound up $500 in the hole and the month's already half gone, bills due in two weeks. I'm sure we'll find a way, we always have, but life is gonna suck for a while. Luckily, in less than a month I should be working full time and we'll have plenty of money then and can start paying people back the money that has been lent to us over the last few months. I feel ashamed, brothers, that I've allowed ZZ and I to fall into this hole. Did I tell you that I've applied for fifty jobs (no exaggeration) and was only hired for one? I turned it down though, it was that door to door peddling job. Anyway, Christmas spirit is running low again.
As for that military bashing guy (James) I saw him again today. I was helping a friend clean out a 55 gallon fish tank so he could take it away. (The fish went to another home, funny stories about those fish, too.) Everything went just fine today and we were able to ignore our differences while we watched snowboarders jump off buildings in the alley we were standing in.
So the reason I have not been posting is not that I took the low road and landed myself in jail for fighting, but because my computer has been crapping out on me before I can finish. This is my second time typing all of this tonight and I'm feeling frightened that I won't be able to finish. So, without further ado,
Peace and Love,
Mungo
PS... What is Ips Nac Nit?
PPS... oh... Tin Can Spi reversed. Duh.
PPPS... I am learning this song to play for ZZ on her birthday: "At the Bottom of Everything" by Bright Eyes. She loves this song and at the beginning the singer has a long into about a plane crash and a woman on board asks her neighbor as they're crashing, "Where are we going?" and he says to her, "We're going to a party. It's a birthday party. It's your birthday party. Happy birthday darling, we love you very very very very very very very much." I'm going to rewrite all the other words to the song so that they are a story about the last ten months ZZ and I have spent together. Fun, huh? Check out the song somewhere if you can! Oh, I'm also learning "Road to Joy" by Bright Eyes to play directly after the other song and that will continue the tale, however, it is MUCH harder to play. (At Amazon, click on listen, they are the first and last tracks on "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning."
FAVORITE LYRIC: "I read the body count out of the paper, and now it's written all over my face, no one ever plans to sleep out in the gutter, sometimes that just the most comfortable place!"
