Books
So, I've been working like a mad dog on my second book, Highway 9. I've started typing out the first draft to get estimates on how long of a book this could turn into. I estimate that when all is said and done it will be around 360,000 words. (the exact estimate is 361,846 words.) That's over a third of a million words! Who wants to read that many words about life in the midwest? I tried to estimate how many pages that would be in book form and I got 1,300 pages. I'm going to have to do some serious! revising, I think. In the meantime, I'm going to keep plugging away. The deadline I have given myself (July 25th, 2006) for the first draft is coming faster than I thought. I'm only a third of the way done so far. That's a lot of writing left, my brothers.
I'm getting really excited about Solid Mud being published. In a week or two I'll have the first "proofs" for me to go over. They'll send a paper copy of what the book will look like and I get to make one last revision for gramatical errors and whatnot.
Eddie, sorry to say that your role in the book has been severly compromised. I was writing this for my family and friends and felt that I had to alter your normal speech pattern. Sorry, bro. In my third book, Paradise Plain, you'll be back in my writing and the full color of your charactor will be brought back to life. I'll have that book done in about 3 years.
Peace and Love,
Mungo
PS, Good news about Lorelei's school, that's great!
