Updates on Work and Home
Happy anniversery to Mungo and ZZ! Our relationship is now a year old. And we're getting married! A few loose ends to tie up and we'll be getting married in May. Haven't told anyone else about this yet, just sort of decided today. I haven't even really proposed to her yet. I'd like to have a ring to do that but there is no money yet.
Speaking of money. My parents are sending money to us again. I'm going to send it right back with a polite 'Thanks but no thanks' letter attached.
Speaking of credit. I tried to get a $12,329 loan for a Subaru Forester but I was denied because of 3 black marks on my credit. #1 was a MBNA (Gov't Travel Card) charge off of $696. The Air Forced drug their feet for 6 months on paying them after my deployment and simply charged off the remainder. #2 Apparently back in August 1999 I had a Capitol One credit card. You guys knew me well back then. Do you ever remember me having a credit card at ALL? No, never have. I had an AlAskA USA Visa check card, but that's it. I smell fraud. #3 According to GMAC, my beat up old Saturn has ostinsibly been repossesed. It may be POSSESSED, but not repossesed. It's sitting quietly in my parking lot right now, recouperating from about 5 days of not starting. GMAC charged off my account of $2,800 last October and has continued to accept monthly payments without so much as letter in the mail announcing what they have done. These three things together make me looked absolutely unappealing to any prospective financing bank.
Anaway. Got to talk to Eddie a few days ago. That was good. He told me that my sister Caitlin has moved to Syracruse, NY. Interesting.
I am now, once again, a qualified Tracking Technician. 27 training days, and more than half of that was on the computer suffering through on-line "LMS" courseware lectures. Talk about mind-numbing. Starting Wednesday I will begin Interface Control Technician training. I'll have a suspence of 7 April to be qualified. Because of our work schedule, that gives me approximately 15 training days.
The Guard was screwing up my pay for the last few months but now it's been fixed and my next check should be in exess of $2500. That will be nice. It will go a very long way.
We just got new neighbors downstairs. The previous occupants were Kelly and Hartmut. They left the United States to go to Africa and build churches. The new neighbors are Wes and Someone and they are loud Gansta-Rap-Listenin-to-at-10 p.m.-Mo-Fos.
I did not apply for the WD slot. Now that I have a 179 day Temp Tour the immediacy for finding a permanant position at the ROCC has tempered out. I applied the the other Tech Sgt Slick position and I'll probably not get it. There are A LOT of SSgt's at the ROCC now. We're the new A1C, I guess. At least the pay is higher. There will be three more SSgt Slick slots opening next month and I'll just make sure to apply for those. I've already been told I'm garunteed one of them by the Chief.
People you'll probably remember that are all at the ANR: Peihl, Humenick, Hemert, Calvin, Heidelbach, D.Fox, Sims, Padgett (upstairs), Greenhalgh, Swaidek, Beltzer, Gonzalles, Kingrey (now Ordoneuz), Clifford, Austin, Shonenburger, and Mungo. If either of you guys wanted to come back up here, that would be awsome. I know that has about as much chance happening as peace presiding over Iraq... but I thought I'd throw that out there.
I stared reading a book called "Flight of the Old Dog" tonight. Brian, the cabbie, said I'd like it after I described for him what it is that I do at the ACS. I just finished reading the part where they talked about infared lighting at Dreamland. They use it to help the unattended doberman guard dogs.
I was going to send SOLID MUD out to be published next week, but now we don't have the money for it again. Will this thing EVER be in print? Who knows. It's become quite an irritant.
I have to be at work in about 7 hours so I should be going to bed. Unfortunately I woke up at 1 p.m. today and I'm not at all tired yet. It's 10:34 p.m.
Peace and Love,
mungo
PS, I liked the look of the Tin Can Spi just fine before. But I'm still good with the new look. What's up with the Word Verificantion? When did that start?
