With Winter Coming...

With the winter approaching fast (frosty windows and termination dust are both crusting up our worlds), ZZ and I are preparing for the new season in vastly different ways.

I am searching for used ice skates because I'd like to learn how to skate this year. I am on the look out for smokin deals on snowboarding gear because I'd like ZZ and I do that together. I'm also budgeting for a good set of snow tires for the Subaru. Somewhere in our expenses we also need to set aside some money to fix the front end of the Saturn. It's dying fast. Lastly, I'm drawing up a good solid work-out plan for ZZ and I to take on this winter so we don't get all flabby in the cold lazy months. These are the things that I'm doing to prepare for winter.

ZZ, on the other hand, is adimit about the denial of winter's approach and refuses to look forward. I talk about winter and her face goes all Five-Year-Old-That-Hates-Vegetables... shaking her head and grimacing.

"But, ZZ," I plead with her, "at some point, you'll want to hit the slopes! You love snowboarding!"

"No! I said no! Don't even LOOK at the snow!"
